Los Angeles Is Now #1 for House Hunters Leaving: What That Means for Selling in Woodland Hills
Redfin's Q2 2026 migration report, published September 24, 2026, ranks Los Angeles first among metros for net outflow of house hunters, at 28,652. In the Q1 report we were third, at 23,971. California's net outflow was 56,548, nearly twice New York's, the second-ranked state. Las Vegas topped the destination list with a net inflow of 9,581, and Florida drew more house hunters than any other state, with a net inflow of 38,922. Nationally, 18.7% of house hunters looked to relocate, up from 18.1% a year earlier.
What this measures: Redfin defines net outflow as how many more Redfin.com house hunters are looking to move out than move in. A migrant is a user who viewed at least 20 for-sale homes in an origin and destination pair during a month. It is search behavior, not completed moves, and it can include vacation and investment property searches.
What it does not measure: how many buyers want a home in Woodland Hills, or what they will pay. For local conditions, Movoto's Woodland Hills page (October 16, 2026) shows 379 active listings, 70 with price reductions, 50 median days on market versus 44 a year ago, and 389 sales in September versus 327 a year earlier. Movoto lists a September median sale price of $1,299,000.
Geography note: no public migration data exists for 91367. These are Los Angeles metro and California statewide figures, the smallest real geography available.
